AUBURN, Ala. (WKRG) — UPDATE: (5:27 a.m.) An Auburn police officer has died following a shooting late Sunday night.

Two other Auburn police officers were seriously injured, according Auburn Police Chief Paul Register.

“This is my worst day,” Chief Register told reporters early Monday morning.

An Emergency BLUE Alert has been issued after several Auburn officers were shot Sunday night. According to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the officers were responding to a domestic call at the Arrow Head Trailer Park in Auburn. When they arrived, Wilkes allegedly opened fire against the officers, hitting several of them. Wilkes is a white man, weighs around 215 pounds and is 6’4. He was last seen wearing camo clothing and body armor. Investigators believe Wilkes is a serious risk to the public. If you see him,  Auburn Police Department at 334-501-3100 or call 911.

ALEA is not releasing any information on the current conditions of the officers who were shot.
